Taj Usha Kiran Palace is a heritage property of the Taj group, located just beside the Jai Villas Palace. The palace offers three dining options – Silver Saloon, Bada Bar and The Courts. I went here with my family to attend the special Holi brunch buffet that had an exciting range of menu. The restaurant offers a mix of cuisines like Indian, Continental and Asian, which will definitely hit your taste buds.
With its rich historical significance, the palace displays the true spirits of Gwalior. The restaurant is huge with an amazing view of the court. Everything inside is so majestic. The cherry on the top is the complimentary live classical music from the Gharanas of Gwalior.
We started our meal with some amazing Indian street food like Aloo Tikki, Dahi Bada and Gol Gappas. After gulping down the street delicacies, we hopped to the Asian delights. We tried the Hakka noodles with Schezwan chicken, which was nicely prepared and had a lot of fresh veggies in it. We also had Grilled fish, which was a bit disappointing. The main course was good but had few options for non-vegetarians. The Dal makhani and Mutton Rogan Josh was mind-blowing.
The best thing was the hospitality; the staff was very friendly and courteous. We had walked-in and they educated about the special buffet lunch and guided us through the menu nicely. The buffet cost us 1500 INR per person and was worth the money.
If you find yourself in Gwalior, do visit this place to experience fine dining and to witness the richness of Usha Kiran Palace.
