Dubai has always surprised people when it comes to creativity and uniqueness. From building a manmade island in shape of a palm tree to creating a beautiful garden in a land of desert. No wonder this is the most visited place in the world, breaking many records and myths.
The Palm Island
Located on the coast of Dubai, the three artificial islands (Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Deira Island) are the first in the world. Palm Jumeirah was open to the public in October 2007, is the most visited island among the three, the rest are still in development phase. The island was the dream project of the Prince of Dubai and offers luxurious villas, shoreline apartment, beach facing hotels, restaurants and great tourist attractions. The Atlantis hotel also called the gateway is the main attraction in Palm Jumeirah.
To reach the island, or specifically to the Atlantis Hotel you can either take a taxi or monorail from the Gateway station (Jumeirah) to the Atlantis hotel.
The three main activities to watch out in Atlantis hotel:
AquaVenture
A theme based Water Park with amazing rides. Battle out at the Tower of Poseidon, ride the world’s largest water slide Aquaconda and discover some hidden secrets of the Tower of Neptune. Fill yourself with a bucket full adrenaline.
The Lost Chambers
This was my first aquarium experience and it was simply astonishing. This is a theme-based aquarium showing the lost city of Atlantis. As you enter the place you will find yourself in between some unique sea creatures. From Sharks to stingrays to jellyfishes all that you can ask for. You can also feed the fishes along with the divers, which is a thrilling experience.
Dolphin Bay
Here you can meet, play and swim with this friendly creation of God. They have a variety of activities that you can perform with the dolphins. You can even scuba dive with them!
The Miracle Garden
Declared, as the world’s largest vertical garden by the Guinness Book of World Record in the year 2013, is a spectacle place displaying more than 200 variety of flora. This is located in Dubailand’s entertainment complex. This place offers stunning sculpture like gigantic peacocks, huts and fountains made of flower, beautiful sitting area and a food court serving great menu. This place is perfect for picnics, family outings and photography enthusiasts.
P.S: Do try the caramel popcorns and corncobs they are simply delicious!
Global Village
Global Village is a place that will take you around the world in few hours. This is a seasonal attraction and opens every winter. This place features more than 25 country pavilions displaying the products and culture of the region along with fun rides for adults and kids. This place also offers special entertainment shows such as 3D shows, Chinese Circus, musical fountain show, breath-taking display of fireworks that happens every day.
To reach the place you can take a taxi or metro to Al Ghubaiba station (Green Line) and take a bus (Route – 104) from there to reach Global Village.
