During a five-day trip to Lucknow with my family, I was searching for affordable accommodation. That is when I discovered the Go Awadh hostel in Gomti Nagar. Gomti Nagar is one of the best areas to stay in Lucknow because of its green surroundings and proximity to popular attractions.

It’s important to note that the hostel mentioned is no longer in operation. But don’t worry! We’ve compiled a list of the best accommodation options available in Lucknow for you to consider.

Inside Go Awadh hostel

The hostel offered two types of lodging options: a private room with a double bed and a dormitory with eight bunk beds, with private bathrooms. The communal areas of the hostel were quite enjoyable, featuring an outdoor seating and dining area, as well as a spacious terrace complete with a bonfire pit. Inside, there was a comfortable lounge with a bookshelf and a variety of board games available for guests to use.

The dining area was large and could seat up to eight people. The guests were not allowed to use the kitchen and were limited to staff. Our stay included a complimentary breakfast, but the menu was plain. Our breakfast consisted of tea or coffee, bananas, and bread. As a result, we decided to bring some instant noodles and asked the housekeeping staff to prepare them for us.

What I liked about Go Awadh

Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hostel. The bohemian decor was visually pleasing, and there was ample space to move around. There was also an art shop near the outdoor seating area that had some lovely paintings, dream catchers, and other home decor items available for purchase. The hostel also had a well-stocked library. However, the highlight of the hostel was Oreo – an affectionate Boston Terrier who loved to spend time with guests and was definitely a highlight of my stay. I had a great time playing with him and miss him a lot.

If you’re looking to save money on your accommodation while visiting Lucknow, you may want to consider staying at a budget hotel like Go Awadh. Not only was it affordable, but it also provided the added perk of allowing us to stay with a pet for a few days. The room was comfortable and had more space compared to a budget hotel in the city. Overall, it was a great decision for us and helped us save money without compromising on comfort.
