Spend a day at one of the coolest places in Singapore. Head to the Gardens by the Bay to explore one-of-a-kind biodiversity and state-of-art engineering. A day won’t seem enough for this place. However, here’s a complete guide to making the most of your time here. 

How to reach?

The best way to reach the Gardens by the Bay is via MRT (Mass Rapid Transit). Get down at the Marina Bay or Bayfront station and walk up to the main entrance that is merely 5 minutes away. 

Plan your day at the Gardens by the Bay

The garden remains open from 5 am until 2 am. There are plenty of options available suitable for your time and budget. 

Low Budget

There are plenty of options available for free at the Gardens by the Bay. Take a walk around the park and explore the Supertree Grove, lakes and gardens. Follow the art trail and enjoy a delectable meal at the restaurants within the Gardens by the Bay.

Exploration Time: 3-4 hours

Medium Budget

Those with a medium budget can explore any one of the conservatories along with the OCBC Skyway. I highly recommend Cloud Forest. You will surely be in awe of its beauty. Moreover, you’ll get to witness the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. The OCBC Skyway is where you will get a view of the park that will amaze you. 

Entry Ticket: 12 SGD (One Conservatory Ticket) & 8 SGD (OCBC Skyway)
Food: 10-20 SGD
Exploration Time: 5-6 hours

High Budget

Enjoy an entire day exploring the Conservatories, Floral Fantasy and Observatories along with the Outdoor gardens. Use the shuttle service to hop from one place to another. Buy the Attraction Bundle ticket from the counter to save money. All that walk can easily make you feel exhausted. Therefore, rest in between, stay hydrated and grab some snacks for energy.

Attractions at the Gardens by the Bay

Outdoor Gardens

The Outdoor Gardens include Serene Garden, Supertree Grove, Sun Pavillion, Heritage Gardens, World of Plants and Dragonfly & Kingfisher Lakes. Admission is free to these areas and can be visited anytime between 5 am to 2 am. 

The Supertree Grove is one of the iconic structures within the garden complex. The large canopies covered by a vertical garden provide shade during the day and come to life during the night. While you’re here, don’t forget to watch the Rhapsody show that happens every evening at 7.45 pm and 8.45 pm. The beats will make you jump. 

Conservatories

The Gardens by the Bay contains two conservatories, Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. The Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world with an overwhelming collection of flora. The Cloud Forest, on the other hand, holds the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. A great place to learn about rare plants and the disappearing environment.

Floral Fantasy

A place where art, technology and flowers come together to create magic. Floral Fantasy consists of four gardens, each with a unique theme. While you’re here, don’t forget to watch the 4D show. Bags are not allowed within the premises. Therefore, make use of the locker outside the main entrance (Floral Fantasy) to keep your belongings safe. Also, the Floral Fantasy has a fixed in and out time, so make sure you pick your slot accordingly.

Ticket: 20 SGD

Supertree Observatory and OCBC Skywalk

Observe the beauty of the gardens from a different point of view. Head to the OCBC Skywalk and the Supertree Observatory and get awed by the magnificent view of the gardens and the Marina Bay area.

Time: 9 am to 9 pm
Ticket: 14 SGD (Supertree Observatory) & 8 SGD (OCBC Skyway)

Shuttle Service at Gardens by the Bay

There are three kinds of services available to transport you from one point to another, each operating at a different frequency. 

Shuttle Service – runs every 10 minutes and costs 3 SGD for unlimited rides.
Time: 9.00am – 9.00pm daily

Auto Rider – A driverless shuttle service that runs every 20 minutes and costs 5 SGD for a two-way ride.
Time: 10.30am – 9.30pm daily

Audio Tour – A 25 minutes leisurely ride that takes you around the gardens and costs merely 8 SGD.
Time: 9.00am – 5.30pm (Mondays* – Fridays)
           9.00am – 5.00pm (Weekends and Public Holidays)
*Tour begins at 12.30pm on the first Monday of every month
