I am writing my first airline review, and hence, starting with the most recent long flight that I took from Delhi to Singapore last year.

I am a big fan of Vistara Airlines and prefer them over any other airline because of their unmatchable quality and comfort. It happened to be a coincidence that I was planning a trip to Singapore, and Vistara launched its first international flight to none other than Singapore in July 2019. Therefore, without any second thought, I picked Vistara airlines.

I wasn’t prepared for this flight review post. Therefore, you’ll see a fewer photos of the flight. However, here’s a video of my journey, where I’ve tried to cover as much detail as possible. 🙂 Also check out my Singapore trip itinerary, where I cover every detail from the places I’ve been to my overall trip cost.

Flight timing and ticket cost

I booked my tickets a month before my travel date. Therefore, I was expecting a slightly higher price. However, it was nominal, and cost INR 26655 per person (two-way ticket). It was a direct flight from Delhi to Singapore, and the flying time was approximately 5 hours 45 minutes, which is the fasted travel time to Singapore.

Boarding

We reached Indira Gandhi Airport (Terminal-3) 3 hours before our flight time and got our tickets printed from the kiosk near the Vistara check-in station. We self checked-in our luggage which saved a tremendous amount of time that we utilised by doing window shopping. The boarding started 45 minutes ahead of departure, at 23:45.

In-flight experience

The economy class had three seats on each side. We got the window and the middle seat. Aisle one was empty, which gave us some extra space. Thanks to my height, leg space has never been a thing of worry. However, you never mind an empty seat, that too on an overnight flight.

Once settled, the flight attendants offered us cold towel wipes and the menu card. Fifteen minutes post our boarding, the captain made his welcome announcement, and in the next 10 minutes, we were airborne.

Food and beverage

meal at vistara airlines from delhi to Singapore

The service began with drinks followed by dinner. The dinner tray included a bun, Thai chicken curry with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables along with a fudge brownie. The food was delicious, especially the Thai curry. Post dinner, we were able to get a solid 4 hours of sleep.

Ground experience

We touched down at 8:15 am and walked towards the immigration counter that was 5 minutes away from the arrival gate.

Overall

The boarding and deboarding was smooth, the flight was on time, and we had a smooth journey. The delicious food was a cherry on the top. Overall it was a great experience flying with Vistara Airlines to Singapore. Additionally, sharing a few pros and cons of the flight timing.

Pros

  1. As this is a night flight, it will save you from the rush hour, be it on the road or at the airport.
  2. If you take this flight on a Friday night, you can make the most of your weekend as you’ll reach early morning in Singapore.
  3. The price is nominal and is the fastest way to travel from Delhi to Singapore.

Cons

Unlike India, where you can check-in to any hotel post 11 AM, Singapore has a late check-in policy. Moreover, they are very particular about the timing and allow check-ins only post 3 PM. Therefore, this is the only con that I see with the flight timing. You might feel a little sleep deprived the entire day. However, if you plan the places you might cover then you can make the most of your day. We kept our itinerary light for the day and went on exploring Orchard street and also did an Art Trail at Orchard Central.
