Built over a century ago by Seattle’s first Japanese American architect, the hotel carries a layered history. The atmosphere is what I love most—the creak of historic wood floors, the glow of cozy lighting, and a calm stillness that makes you want to linger with a pot of tea. Their blueberry rooibos is a favorite of mine, as is the peach blossom white tea. And, to make things even better, the tearoom has a resident cat that adds to the warmth of the space.
