Mobile sits on Mobile Bay, where Alabama’s deep-water port meets a compact historic downtown. The city is known for its layered cultural history, fresh Gulf Coast seafood, and the oldest organized Mardi Gras celebration in the United States. That is a lot to fit into one day, but we decided to try anyway.
